I loved listening to this interview! I really appreciated its realness about the messy process of getting published, and I felt encouraged by the end, too! Thank you, Evelyn!
This was great! It's in my top two favorite of your interviews so far (along with the Scarlett St. Clair interview). So interesting. And encouraging. I always appreciate hearing about the business side of writing. I would've loved to have Brian's books when I was a kid. So glad they exist now. And I'm definitely picking a few up as gifts. In fact, I might read them myself. :)
And to mirror what Brian said, thank you for bringing this community here to Substack, Evelyn. Your posts about your writing life and your podcasts with a diverse group of authors and their unique approaches is such a wonderful wealth of information in such a friendly and welcoming community. Thank you! 🙏😀
Awwww thank you, Petra!! This comment made my afternoon. (And I also loved the note you posted about watching these podcast episodes during your lunches. What a wonderful thing to know about you!)
So glad you’re going to pick up some of Brian’s books as gifts. I just love his mission and the positivity he’s spreading.
I really enjoy sitting down with a bowl of food and watching your podcasts. They feel like sitting down to lunch with writing friends. (Although I do much less talking then I would if I were there in person.😂)
Go, Brian! I loved this interview--in part, because of the way it connected to the work I do with women entrepreneurs. What has surprised me is that many young women still don't feel as if they have a seat (a voice) at the table. The earlier we can spread the empowering messages discussed in this interview, the greater the chance we have of changing this narrative for the women coming up through the ranks. I also loved the bit about the benefits of a "harsh critique" and the idea that each bit of feedback we get has something valuable within it. (If we are gracious and "whole" enough to see it in that light.) Many thanks to you both. Diana
That's so wonderful that this relates to the work that you do, Diana. It must give your experience of this interview an extra dimension! Very glad that this one resonated with you so well.

I'm really glad that it resonated with you on so many levels, Katrina!
I love that he has a park bench story, too!
Perhaps someone will write a piece about writers & the park benches where big thoughts happened ☺️

I love when the writing universe conspires so beautifully!
What an interesting interview, thanks Evelyn & Brian!

awww I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Love this! Such a unique way to approach becoming an author and filling a gap in the market. 🤩
Thank you, Elaine! Brian thinks so differently than I do, and I really enjoyed seeing his approach as well!
