I loved everything about this interview :) And his advocacy for the LGBTQ community!

I especially love that he said that so much of writing takes place in our heads! I will be doing a hundred other things and also thinking about what I want to say or where I want some part or piece to go or what else can I add here or there.. It's just as much of an internal process as external :)

Also, love that he said he's okay with where he's at and how much he loves writing just for the sake of writing.

I love this so much…I love his view on how we have to take care of ourselves so we can write and tell the stories we want to tell.

It’s just such a good reminder to give ourself that grace, isn’t it?

Yes! In order to be the storytellers we want to be we have to take care of our mental and physical health and take good care of ourselves. That really resonated with me.

Thanks for posting, very enlightening. I wish TJ would’ve spoke about some of JK rowling’s stances on trans rights/the act of transitioning. Because I found her essays rather interesting and they presented valid arguments. Does that mean I agree with everything she says? No. But it would have been nice to hear some reasoned arguments rather than blanket statements like calling someone “horrible” without letting their voice be heard.

Creating a productive and positive environment for all means not shutting down speech because it doesn’t agree with you. We cannot dismantle the master’s house with the master’s tools.

Thanks for sharing Evelyn, really glad to hear this and I appreciated your different questions.

Hey Andrew, have you listened to The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling? It might be what you’re looking for, in terms of nuanced arguments.
