Just yesterday, I saw a murder of crows on the telephone pole when I was out walking. I always think of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" when I see that. Of course, since they're near a grocery store, they might go after someone carrying cereal.

In such a case, they might become cereal killers.

I do this with the crows that hang out on the lawn at my work 🤣🤣 I make up little stories about them when they gather and squawk at each other.

Also, there's a pigeon I've named Bruce who hangs out at the Dairy Queen nearby, every time we go get ice cream Bruce is always there wandering around looking for French fries 😬

So glad to know I'm not alone in giving birdies backstories 🤣🤣🤣

haha we are kindred spirits. I love thinking about Bruce being a potato fiend (I totally get it. I too, love french fries).

I think you need to the crows names, or at least the whole squad needs a name.

Bwahahaha YES!! I shall name them next time I see them and report back :)

I once named a squirrel Bruce. He was determined to get into the bird feeder, so I started greasing the pole. It was pretty comical to watch him get almost within reach and then slide down. You could see his confusion every time it happened.

Crows (and ravens) are so smart, with their big swagger ‘tude! I studied a murder of crows who lived in the tree 🌲 in front of my house, then created a key figure in my first novel based on my observations: Miz Becca a Shapeshifter / witch. A Wise Elder in a funky trailer that my protagonist meets starting her heroine’s journey.

OMG, Evelyn! I've been doing this with the two doves who hang out on my carport roof every evening 😭 They have a special spot on the peak of the roof and they're often ignoring each other but sitting close enough together that they can feel the presence of the other. I imagine they come to their special spot to be alone together and have some peace and quiet while the sun sets after a long day.

So cuuuuute! Now I'm imagining them as a couple that's been together for so long that they are comfortable in their silences together. Do they have names?

Me too!! It's adorable. They don't have names yet, but you've inspired me to choose some next time they make an appearance 😍 I'll keep you posted.

I always think of my grandmother when I see birds! She loved them! She could tell you just about any species of bird. In my novel, I have a crow named Besnick! 🐦‍⬛
