Gorgeous interview. Thank you both. You two have such warm chemistry. My big takeaway was this gem from Jeannine: “I really want to show up for the life that I’m living not the life that I lived.” Now that is Ouellette-ing!

Thank YOU for watching/listening, Monika! I feel like I'm learning so much from just these comments and what everyone is taking away from Jeannine's wisdom. I'm so happy this interview gave you a dose of just what you needed. :)

I loved listening to this conversation. First of all, I’m a big fan of Evelyn’s novels! And you two had such fabulous rapport as you talked about all the things I care so much about, too, like creativity, art vs. commerce, and all the aspects of how Jeannine teaches that makes it such a joy to be part of her community. When she speaks of embodied writing, and that it improves the words that you put out into the world, simply by being aware of your body and where it is in the world, I can 100% attest to that. Thanks for this! Oh, Jeannine, I also want to say, when you mentioned that your community feels like we're friends--yes, we are!--and if something happened to you, you can believe an alarm would sound across the WITD community and we'd all be there for you, as we'd be for each other.

Oh, I was just thinking the other day about saying that, trying to remember to whom I said it--thank you for reminding me, first of all, and also affirming that feeling, which is just, it's very special to feel that way and it's not just me. I feel like the WITD community overall would be there that way for EACH OTHER. It's very beautiful!

Thank you for saying that you're a fan of my novels, too! xoxo

This was a great interview to listen to! I especially enjoyed the behind-the-scenes portions about Jeannine's substack and Evelyn's work on Damsel. Thanks!

Loved this. I i’m very late to this writing party and super encouraged by all that I am finding here.

I read a state of wonder for the second time by Anne Patchett. I loved it. She is an exquisite writer.

I knew exactly what you were speaking about the boy how he held the flashlight. Her character development is other worldly.

Thank you

You are an amazing bundle of surprises, Evelyn! On top of other parts of your life you've already revealed, you majored in Russian Lit?! You are such an interesting, unique person. Thank you again for responding to my MFA question on Kathleen's site several months ago, I so appreciate the ongoing conversations that have evolved since then.
