COVER REVEAL - Damsel movie tie-in paperback
Also, announcing the re-launch of this newsletter into something even better!
Happy 2024, lovelies!
I am thrilled to kick off the new year with the Cover Reveal for the Damsel movie tie-in edition!
Millie Bobby Brown is coming, and she is not giving up without a fight…
I love that this is the image that Netflix and my publisher chose for the movie tie-in edition of my book! This photo of Millie pretty much sums up Princess Elodie’s badass character and the bravery she will need to face a dragon.
This beauty of a paperback comes out on March 5th, just a few days before the movie releases on Netflix! (If you want to read the story sooner than that, the hardcover edition is already out.)
Welcome to my New & Improved Newsletter!
If you were able to stay up past midnight, I salute you! On New Year’s Eve, I was on a plane back from Minnesota where I was visiting family, so when I got home, I just got into pajamas and went to bed. Hooray for the new year, though!
Some of you have asked if I could share more about life as an author—how I find inspiration, the day-to-day of artistic work, and behind the scenes of publishing.
So I’m going to try to do that, starting with renaming this newsletter: WORDPLAY with Evelyn Skye.
You’ll find me in your inbox more often (usually Thursday mornings) with my thoughts and insights on the creative life. I also hope to introduce you to some of my favorite authors through interviews, and I’ll share more of what I’m reading and loving. And of course, there will still be updates on my books.
It’s a loose New Year’s resolution, because I believe in flexibility. Also, I sometimes need to bury myself in my writer’s cave and do nothing but work on my book. But I am excited to write to you more often!
Reading: What’s on my Nightstand
The Every by Dave Eggers - It’s a satirical novel where every tech nightmare is taken to its extreme (think: zero privacy, GPS/health/mood trackers on everyone all the time, and apps that act like lie detectors on your friends’ faces to rate how good a friend they really are). Hilarious and terrifying at the same time… I’m really enjoying it so far.
