I have a few autographed bookplates leftover from the exclusive offer I did for newsletter subscribers! Send me your mailing address to evelynskyebooks@gmail.com and I will put it in the mail for you. How cool that you'll be able to grab an Indonesian edition the next time you visit!
The book is totally done so all I have left if publicity... But that will happen later. I have a lot of milestones this year so it's like, "Just focus on one book at a time, Evelyn!" lol . So right now is DAMSEL publicity, including heading to France in a few weeks for a French book tour. Then I'll shift gears to THE HUNDRED LOVES OF JULIET paperback (which comes out May 7). and then finally I'll turn my publicity attention to ONE YEAR AGO IN SPAIN (comes out July 30). I love that cover, too, just like you!
It's in my contracts that I should receive copies of each version, but sometimes the publishers forget lol. For example, my book The Crown's Game has also been translated into a lot of languages, but I only have copies of a few of them.
For the Damsel translations, I love all of them and I think it's impossible to pick a favorite!! They're all so incredible in different ways, you know?
Thank you so much for explaining this. I have always wondered about this. Sometimes the foreign editions are more interesting and beautiful. These versions of Damsel are gorgeous.
I really love seeing the creativity (and also trying to understand the marketing) for different audiences around the world. And thank you about the different versions--I am so blessed to get to work with amazing art departments!
I LOVED that Indonesian cover! And I have bookmarked to read your guest posts! Thanks for this article and I am so excited for what lies ahead for you!!!!
yes, I'm trying to! The publishers are supposed to send them to me, but sometimes they forget. I don't have copies of all the translations of my other books, either.
The Indonesian one feels like cover art of a great video game. I am obsessed with it. And the German ones are on my shelf, page out, around the American DAMSEL, so that flames are surrounding her. :) I'm eagerly awaiting my Ukrainian copies to arrive. Gonna have to buy another bookshelf just for these foreign editions... !
Answering questions I didn't even know I had! This was both interesting and fun. Now I'm wondering what other versions of books I have are out there :)
This is amazing! I was born in Indonesia and it's really cool to see Damsel translated there, will definitely get a copy when I go back.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is there somewhere I would go to get a signed copy? :)

Thank you! I just went shopping for French Book Tour Outfits. ;)
I understand. They are all unique and works of art. Are you doing alot of preparation for One Year in Spain? I love the orange on the cover.
It's a pretty color.

That's a beautiful collection to have, especially with the various designs from the various editions that you can compare and enjoy.
The Indonesian cover is soooo good. And the painted edges in the German edition: A work of art!

Watched the film last week and absolutely loved it!
wow, thank you so much, Mark! Now you have to get the book so you can find the differences (including the ending)!
Definitely. I look forward to reading it.

That sounds like so much fun! 🤩 Are you aiming for a certain look? Sporty, business attire, bohemian, casual?
