2024 Ryan Stripling “Words Create Worlds” Scholarship for Young Writers

2 winners (High School Seniors): $2,500 each

This scholarship was established to honor my brother-in-law, Ryan Stripling, an English teacher in Bentonville, Arkansas who passed away from cancer in 2019. Ryan was a fierce believer in young writers and always encouraged them with the motto, “Words create worlds.”

CREATIVE. INSPIRED. HAPPY is honored to continue Ryan’s legacy by awarding a $2,500 scholarship to each of two (2) high school seniors who are promising young writers, for use toward college tuition (any major).

• the link will take you to bold.org’s platform, which is facilitating all the logistics of the scholarship.

• applicants will need to fill out a profile, then write a short essay (400-600 words). The essay prompt is on the application.

• This scholarship is open to students pursuing any major, as long as they are interested in continuing to write throughout college in some form.

• Students must currently be attending a high school within the United States and plan to attend a college or university within the United States.

• Application deadline: March 1, 2025

• Winners (2) announced: April 2, 2025
